Position Overview

The Back-of-House Supervisor effectively assists the Store Management in managing the operational and customer services functioning of a store including Administration, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and Shipping/Receiving.



Oversee inventory function

  • Support to receive merchandise and prepare transfers to other locations.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, condition and availability to optimize customer service.
  • Support process with merchandise returns.
  • Support to coordinate cycle count and physical inventory prep work.
  • Oversee the yearly physical inventory and ensure the correct procedures are adhered to.
  • Partner with the sales teams to coordinate client orders/back orders.

Coach, train and develop staff

  • Manage the performance and development of the Inventory Coordinator and Customer Services Coordinator.
  • Ensure appropriate presence in the Operations Department to provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being communicated and adhered to at all time.
  • Assist in training all staff on relevant areas, including JDE training for all retail staff.

Fiscal accountabilities

  • Support the Finance and Operations Director by controlling and continuously raise awareness of expense budgets.

Client development

  • Partner with the Marketing department to assist with store events.


Oversee customer communication and service

  • Support to provide superior customer service for all post sales service.
  • Ensure that Customer Services ensure repair/engraving orders are entered, monitored and completed in a timely manner, entering and communicating estimates when needed.
  • Oversee that where possible, minor onsite repairs, cleanings and other services are performed within the store’s customer service area.
  • Assist management in the visual presentation of merchandise by conducting scheduled cleaning and inspection of store inventory.


  • Function as the liaison with Facilities and IT, follow up on audit issues and manage record retention.
  • Administer the transfers between locations.
  • Support in all administrative duties, i.e. taxations, purchases, telephone, internal correspondence.

System management

  • Assist in the maintenance and implementation of operational support systems e.g. Inventory systems, JDE, MIPS, supplies ordering.


Required Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree
  • Experience in a stock control environment
  • 2-3 years in a leadership position
  • Analytical skills preferred
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work to retail store hours as necessary, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work well with customers, peers and management
  • Ability to understand and adhere to Tiffany & Co. standards
  • Ability to manage project works and to meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to perform different tasks based on day to day business needs
  • Working proficiency in German (business) and English (Business)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of local import/export regulation
  • IT knowledge
  • Retail industry experience (luxury jewelry preferred
